Lady Dragons scorch New Boston, Lady Pirates cage Lady Cardinals
With a six RBI performance from Avery Waldrop leading the way, the Redwater Lady Dragons fired back from a 3-2 first inning deficit and went on to the beat the Lady Lions by a final score of 18-4.
Waldrop’s dominating performance with the bat included a 2nd inning grand slam, and another dinger in the 7th inning. Kyndal Missildine also went yard for the Lady Dragons.
On the hill, Gracie Aldridge earned the win for Redwater tossing a complete game allowing four runs on six hits while striking out seven. Kaylee Gilliam took the loss for New Boston as she allowed 18 runs on 13 hits.
The James Bowie Lady Pirates scored seven times in the top of the 6th inning to overcome a deficit and beat the Maud Lady Cardinals last night by a score of 12-8.
The Lady Pirates tallied 11 hits in the contest, including a 3-for-4 with an RBI night from Emily Latham. Kaylin Brown, Gracie Brown and Hollyn Tutt each had a pair of RBI’s in the game for James Bowie.
Haley Yates was the big bat for the Lady Cardinals with five RBI’s, and the Lady Cards had 15 hits in the game including multi-hit performances from Lanie Lee, Avery Culpepper, Taylor Pate and Addison Roberts.
On the mound, Addy Hammonds was credited with the win for James Bowie.
In other softball action last night, the DeKalb Lady Bears fell to Atlanta 14-3. Anijah Gray hit a solo dinger for the Lady Bears.
