Lady Lions sink Lady Pirates Tuesday night

The New Boston Lady Lions notched another win Tuesday night with a sweep of the visiting Pittsburg Lady Pirates 25-16, 25-8 and 25-10.

Junior Maggie Taylor paced the Lady Lions with 14 points from the service stripe. Grace Duffer had 12 assists in the match and Carlee Ratcliff kicked in with 10 digs.

Up front on the net, Tamiya Smith and Carleigh Reeves were a force to be reckoned with as Smith had six kills on the night and Reeves added five kills of her own.

The New Boston JV squads lost to Pittsburg with JV1 losing in three sets 25-16. 15-25 and 25-23. Victoria Burns had eight service points for the Lady Lions in that match.

JV2 lost 15-19, 25-11 with Jazzlynn Alvalle earning four points from the service line.

Coach Haylee Houston and the Lady Lions will be back on the court this Friday night to face Texas High with a varsity match only starting at 5 p.m.
