Overcoming Mountains
The 24-hour news cycle started in the early 1990’s during the Gulf War. The world (me, especially) were glued to their television sets viewing live 24-hour news coverage. Gone were the days of the 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. evening news. Watching what was transpiring halfway around the world, I quickly became impressed with the bravery of war correspondents putting their lives on the line to report the war. Despite safety protocols, however, dangers surrounded these journalists as accidents occurred.

A Million Steps to Nowhere
That evening, I drove to the streets, hoping to enjoy the company of someone who could use interaction, and I found myself drawn to this one guy. He skirted in front of a business, and once past the door, he glanced back over his shoulder, shuffling his feet. He moved ahead, picked up the pace, and crossed the parking lot.

Luck of the Irish
Recently, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day (also known as “Saint Paddy’s Day”). I’m reminded of my Irish roots. With a maiden name of Ferrell and Ferguson on my mother’s side of the family, there is a lot of Irish blood running through my veins. Plus, I remember my dad’s gorgeous auburn hair when he was younger. Even today I’m still looking for my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (if I’m lucky enough). Well, here’s my question … is there such a thing as luck?

Only Jesus
Hello everyone! It’s been a hot minute! I hope you’re well! Today I want to talk about living for the Lord. In our world and culture they tell us we need all these certain things to be satisfied: Laughter, Money, Work, Love etc. But until you look to the Lord you’ll never be satisfied!SO TRUE!!!

Nothing but the Truth
I am drawn to true crime, who-done-it, criminal profiling stories. Just call me Detective Debby. As crimes are solved and the case goes to trial, the same line is repeated, “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?” After umpteen gillion shows, it occurred to me recently how hard it is for people to tell what the truth really is.

Spaghetti Sauce Kindness
I don’t usually carry fear when I hit the streets for ministry. But that day, fear caught me off guard for just a few seconds. My heart sped up as an SUV abruptly stopped in the middle of the road, where my homeless friends and I were laughing and soaking up the sunshine—which felt as comforting as warm spaghetti sauce over pasta.

Communication is key-Your voice is needed
Sometimes in doing what we do we get to see issues arise that are glaringly important. Sometimes those issues transcend the local community and are such that they impact us, as well as the entire state.
