Mt. Zion Church celebrates 100 years of worship
The Mt. Zion Church was organized in 1923 under the leadership of Rev. M.P. Shephard with a small congregation but faithful band of worshipers giving God the glory and praise under a tent on Deacon Ike Moore’s place. During the winter months service were held in a little log cabin on Deacon Tom Holloway’s property.

Lions tackle Rabbits after weather delays game play
The New Boston Lions chalked up their second consecutive win this time over the Atlanta Rabbits. Due to a weather delay, the game was called early in the first half with the Lions leading 7-0. The game would resume play Saturday at 1:00 PM when the Lions would continue with the previously found momentum.

The first week of suspended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s impeachment trial in the Senate ended with his former lead law enforcement officer testifying an Austin developer alleged to have bribed Paxton constructed a “conspiracy theory” that federal officials altered a search warrant for his property, the Austin American- Statesman reported.
