Community Spotlight-The Miss New Boston Court

2020 has been a year of “firsts” for us all, and that has extended to the young ladies currently holding Miss New Boston Pageant titles.

Seven young ladies were crowned queens at the Miss New Boston Pageant in March of 2019, and last week the New Boston Chamber of Commerce officially cancelled the 2020 Miss New Boston pageant, leaving these seven ladies to reign for another year.

The pageant was originally scheduled to take place in April, during the statewide shelter-in-place order.

The New Boston Queens Court makes numerous appearances throughout the year.  They attend grand openings/ribbon cuttings, work at back-to-school events, and also attend community festivals.   Miss New Boston Ashton Paul says that while 2020 has been a difficult year in many ways, getting to continue her reign as Miss New Boston is bittersweet.

“2020 has definitely been one for the history books,” Ashton said.  “ It is not at all how I saw my senior year ending but with every misfortune there is always a silver lining. I was deeply saddened to hear the Miss New Boston pageant would be cancelled but see it as an opportunity to have another great year representing and giving back to our community as Miss New Boston.”
