Scott Douglas O'Neal


Scott Douglas O'Neal passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home in Avery, Texas.  He was 50 years old. 


Scott was born January 31, 1970, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, to Jack Douglas and Patricia Yvonne Britton O'Neal.  He was a devoted father to his children and veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  Scott was a Welding Supervisor for Red River Army Depot, an avid dog lover, and Texas A&M Football fan.  He enjoyed team roping and his special horse "Dally". 


He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Ernie Britton and Harold O'Neal and one sister, Christie Robnett.


He is survived by his wife, Rhonda O'Neal of Avery, Texas; his parents, Doug O'Neal of Hooks, Texas and Pat O'Neal of Hooks, Texas; one daughter, Haley O'Neal of Nashville, Tennessee; one son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Mollie Tucker of Aviano AFB, Italy; one grandmother, Gayle Voison and her husband, Al of Houma, Louisiana; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Carol Hodges of Avery, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Sara O'Neal of Texarkana, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.


Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Hooks, Texas with Rev. Roy Ford officiating.  Interment will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Wake Village, Texas.


Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, March 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Hooks, Texas.
