TOMMY GENE CALLOWAY

Tommy Gene Calloway passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home in De Kalb, Texas.

He was 79.

Tommy was born June 15, 1943 in New Boston, Texas to Tommie Ezekiel and Ora Belle McCommas Calloway. He was a retired from Red River Army Depot in Supply Maintenance and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clarksville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hubert Calloway; and one sister, Lucille Drinkard.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Calloway of De Kalb, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Toni Williams and Sanjay Bhuyan of Dallas, Texas and Jennifer and Armando Aviles of Mesquite, Texas; a special niece, Bonnie Yates and her husband, Kenny of De Kalb, Texas; a special nephew, Dan Calloway of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren, Jazmine Aviles, Aiva Aviles, Nina Aviles, Eden Williams, Alisha Bhuyan, and Aryan Bhuyan; two great grandchildren, Leila Hernandez and Elliana Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. Jimmy Ramsey officiating. Interment followed at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation was held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
