This past weekend I was out for a drive just to get some fresh air and a litte sun and I came across a group sitting out in front of a local auto parts store in New Boston. 03/13/2024 09:00 AM
How can you manage student loan payments?
How can you manage student loan payments?
If you have student loans, you likely received a “payment vacation” over the past few years, due to legislation related to COVID-19. But if you’re like millions of other borrowers, you may have recently been required to resume your payments. How will this affect your overall financial situation? 03/13/2024 09:00 AM

Now that the March primary is past, whether there be a runoff looming or not, I am glad to say that I am done commenting on politics in this space for a while. 03/06/2024 10:00 AM

School choice is your choice
School choice is your choice
When my oldest daughter was old enough to start school, we lived in a suburb of Dallas. I did not want my kids to go to public school in the big city, so we made a choice. Yes, we made a choice. We chose a private school. Thankfully we had a great church with great teachers and that is where our daughter got her first year of education. It was our choice. But there were no vouchers to pay for it, we paid for it, because it was our choice to put her there. 02/28/2024 10:00 AM

Scripture Verse of the Week
Scripture Verse of the Week
Phillipians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 02/14/2024 10:00 AM

SUITCASE OF LOVE
SUITCASE OF LOVE
The patrol car drove up and parked, and the officer stepped toward me, where I stood with my homeless friends. “Who’s Pam?” My homeless friends asked me, ‘What have you done?” I stood there, unsure what was unfolding, and answered the officer. “I’m Pam. I don’t have any warrants, do I?” 02/14/2024 10:00 AM
Where is the tranquility for our posterity
Where is the tranquility for our posterity
The race for the March 5 primary election is hitting the home stretch and it is most definitely heating up, and in my humble opinion, not in a good way. I am not so naive that there is not an understanding that politics can most times be an ugly business. Candidates for any office invest a significant amount of their time in an effort to win the seat they are running for, and in these days and time they also spend large amounts of money to get there as well. I often wonder what possesses a person to run for a public office. You can hope that most do it in the name of serving their constituents. You can hope that most do it out of a calling to make a difference in the world they live in. You might even hope that those who run for a political office do so out of a pride in the freedoms we hold in this country to vote and to hold an office. 02/14/2024 10:00 AM
