Let the people speak
Let the people speak
On September 19 there will be a public meeting in New Boston about a proposed tax rate hike. I just want to say right here and now that over my years at the newspaper, by and large, public hearings are not very well attended. That is the really sad part of the story. 09/12/2023 11:00 AM

I will start with the latter. 09/12/2023 11:00 AM

The Judge Joni Tidwell Haldeman History of Bowie County Initiative seeks to involve students with local history
The Tribune embarked last week on a new campaign to involve local high school students with learning, and preserving, the rich history of Bowie County. An announcement was made last week and was sent out via social media and emails to the superintendents of local school districts in reference to a journalism “assignment” for students in our local schools. The Tribune fully believes speaking about and publishing the history of Bowie County would be of great value to our readers and to the students themselves and we would love to see those stories in our local newspaper. 09/05/2023 11:00 AM
