FM 2148 closed under I-30 bridge I-30 - Eastbound from FM 2253 past FM 3419, bridge work. Lane closure as needed SH 8 – At Sulphur River, replacing bridges I-30 - Westbound at FM 990, drainage upgrades. Lane closure FM 989/Kings Highway - From US 82 to US 67, resurfacing road. Nightly lane closures 8pm - 6am Camp County US 271 - From FM 3417 to SL 179, resurfacing road. Lane, should closures Cass County US 59 - From 4 miles south of FM 2328S to SH 11, surface rehab. Lane closures SH 8 – At Sulphur River, replacing bridges US 59 – From 1.2 miles south of FM 2328N to 1.9 miles south of FM 2328S, resurfacing road US 59 - From SL 236 to FM 3129, resurfacing road. Lane closures Titus County US 271 – At Dickson Creek, Big Slough Creek, White Oak Creek & White Oak Creek Relief, replacing bridges US 271 - From FM 3417 to SL 179, resurfacing road. Lane, should closures FM 1735 - From SH 49 to FM 4000, widening road, closed to through traffic Upshur County US 271 – From 5.9 miles north of SH 155 to 1.5 miles north of SH 155, resurfacing road. Texas A&M University- Texarkana was recently awarded a $34,000 grant by the Partners of the Americas Foundation as a part of their 100k Strong in the Americas program. Funded by the U.S. State Department, CAF: Development Bank if Latin America, and MinCiencias (Colombia’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation), these new 100K Strong partnerships will support innovative, inclusive training and exchange programs for students and faculty in strategic areas, including climate solutions, sustainable energy, digital transformation, health, creative industries, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), among others. 10/18/2023 09:00 AM

“A Camel in the Desert”
Sometimes each of us needs a little rest. A friend wrote from the Mid-East about his village’s she-camel. (No, I do not know the proper veterinary term for a pregnant camel, but our friend does. He’s a veterinarian, serving God by helping villagers with their goats, sheep, cattle, and this camel.)
