October is deadly month for Texas pedestrians
Fall and winter months bring shorter days and less light, making it harder for drivers to see—and safely avoid—pedestrians. October saw the highest number of pedestrian crashes on Texas roadways in 2022. That’s why TxDOT is using National Pedestrian Safety Month to launch its “Be Safe. Drive Smart” campaign and remind Texans that pedestrians are our most vulnerable road users.

Bowie County Master Gardeners & Texas A&M Texarkana Present: Backyard Composting – October 9, 2023
The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M-Texarkana’s Extended Education and Community Development Department will host the program “Backyard Composting” on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The class is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the Texas A&M Texarkana University Building, Room 326. No reservation is required to attend.
