Bowie’s Best Athlete of the Week
This week’s Bowie’s Best Athlete of the Week is Brittany Boyd. Brittany is a 26-yearold athlete from New Boston. She has been a part of Bowie’s Best for 10 years. Her Special Olympics events include the 4 by 100 meter ladies relay, the 50 meter dash and softball throw in the spring games and she plays on the softball team in the fall. In her down time, Brittany says she likes to play with her dog Missy, attend church at Tapp Methodist, write poetry and listen to music. One of her favorite things about participating in Special Olympics events is that before every softball game, the team gathers together to pray. But her absolute favorite thing is watching the torch run before the start of the spring games. She has yet to take part in the run but hopes to soon.
