XAVIER DEVON JONES
Xavier Devon Jones of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the age of 26. He was born on Thursday, May 21, 1998 in Texarkana, Texas to Shane Jones and Amy Sharp. He came to Durant, Oklahoma, previously from Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a forklift driver, and a Jack of many trades. For 2 years, he also worked for Alaska Seaplanes.

VIOLET ROSE WILSON
Violet Rose Wilson of De Kalb, Texas passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at a Texarkana, Texas care facility. She was 81. Violet was born February 12, 1943, in De Kalb, Texas, to Hooper Anson and Katherine Whitecotton Norris. She worked as a Proof Operator for State Bank of De Kalb for 36 years. She was of the Christian faith. Violet loved to sew for her grandkids and was well known in the community as a talented seamstress.

Bowie County Master Gardeners & Texas A&M – Texarkana Present: “Watering Your Lawn and Garden Wisely”
The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M-Texarkana’s Extended Education and Community Development Department will host the program “Watering Your Lawn and Garden Wisely” on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the University Building, Room 326. No reservation is required to attend. The program will be presented by Dean Minchillo, Extension Program Specialist with the Texas Water Resources Institute in Dallas.
