USDA-NRCS Texas Accepting Applications for Agricultural Conservation Easement Program
While the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) accepts easement applications on a continuous basis, applications for the 2024 fiscal year Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) funding consideration must be submitted to NRCS by December 8, 2023. Any applications that are received after December 8, 2023, will be considered in future funding opportunities. Application package information may be found on the Texas NRCS Easement Program webpage. “NRCS has worked with landowners in Texas for many years to protect their agricultural lands and wetlands,” said NRCS Texas State Conservationist Kristy Oates. “Easements are sometimes a perfect fit for a landowner who is looking to protect land from future development or to protect and improve wetlands or provide critical habitat for wildlife.” ACEP Agricultural Land Easements provide financial assistance to eligible partners for purchasing easements that protect the agricultural use and conservation values of eligible land. In the case of working farms, the program helps farmers and ranchers keep their land in agriculture. The program also protects grazing uses and related conservation values by conserving valuable grasslands in Texas.

Looking for a shepherd
About eight years ago, a man asked the pastor if he could read a passage from the Psalms to the group under the bridge. He also asked the pastor to help him since his reading skills were poor. This pastor had counseled this man numerous times regarding his addiction and other sins. And the man appeared mentally challenged and had admitted to using meth.

Much more than a number and a name
What is the purpose of wearing a jersey? Are jerseys used to identify a player? Is it so we can be identified by the refs?

November 8, 2020 Remembering Ashlin, Megan and Katie Jo
The day was November 8, 2020. From the darkness of night came the news that nobody wanted to hear, the news that three young lives had been lost in a shallow creek out in the middle of nowhere. The scene was a dusty road and a dusty curve that didn’t have a guardrail. At that scene, friends and family jumped off that curve down into the murky creek, but it was just too late. That night, three young ladies from our area lost their lives. Katie Jo Vaughn, Megan Daniel and Ashlin Cox never made it home to their families that night, and they never made it to all of the other events that come with being a young lady living in a rural community. Ashlin was never able to go to church again at Faith Missionary Baptist. She never saw her work friends at the Burger Joint again, and she never had the opportunity to finish college and go to work for Pixar.
