New Boston High School inducts students to the National Honor Society
The New Boston High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held their yearly induction ceremony on Sunday afternoon, April 27th at the high school auditorium which was attended by NHS members, incoming members and their family and friends. The ceremony started by celebrating the officers from this past school year: president Brook Higginbotham, vice president Lillian Brooks, secretary Lontonio Swift, and parliamentarian Kaylee Rhea. Officers installed the for the coming school year include: president Kenzleigh Fields, vice president Kenneth Curb III, secretary Hazel Longest, and parliamentarian Veronica Pierce (Mattie Butler standing in for her in the photo). 24 new members were inducted in the New Boston High School NHS chapter, and 30 outgoing seniors who will be graduating and wearing the NHS stole at graduation were celebrated. New Boston ISD is proud of them all and thank them for their service to the ISD school and their community.

CHRISTUS Health to provide car seats to qualified families for Trauma Awareness Month
In recognition of Trauma Awareness Month in May, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System is providing car seats to qualified families as part of the Safe Riders Child Safety Seat Distribution and Education Program. The program, in partnership with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, aims to educate families on the importance of child car seats, which have been shown to reduce the risk of death in a vehicle crash by more than 70%.
