Bowie County leaders split over fund allocations, new JP to be named for Precinct 3
Tempers flared at Monday morning’s meeting of the Bowie County Commissioners Court. In split decisions, the court voted to approve measures which will reallocate road and bridge funds for the commissioners precincts, as well as, the county judge to enter into a retainer agreement for future redistricting of Bowie County justice of the peace precincts. 08/14/2024 09:03 AM

The New Boston Round Up Club and the Tribune held a coloring contest over the last few weeks in conjunction with this year’s 53rd Annual Pioneer Days Rodeo. After reviewing a host of colorful entries, Oakview 2nd grader Kennedi Haywood was chosen as the winner of this year’s contest. For her entry, Kennedi will receive a prize package worth $150 which includes a $50 gift certificate to the The Burger Joint & Pizzeria, a $30 gift card to Henry & Jean Baby Boutique, $25 cash from DeKalb Physicians Clinic, $25 cash from the New Boston Round Up Club, and two tickets to this weekend’s rodeo.
