City of Texarkana, Texas Receives $2 Million Grant to Foster Economic Development, Workforce Expansion, and Business Development
The City of Texarkana, Texas was recently awarded a $2 million grant from the T.L.L. Temple Foundation designed to help drive economic development, workforce expansion, and business development in the Texarkana region. The City of Texarkana will manage the grant funds that will support three specific local economic development programs, The Assembly Line, Pitch-It Texarkana, and REDI Set Move-Texarkana. 05/14/2025 09:02 AM

FM 2148 closed under I-30 bridge FM 989/Kings Highway - From I-30 north frontage road to Gibson Lane, widening road. Traffic shifted I-30 - At eastbound Exit 207/Spur 594, ramp rehab. Exit closed, eastbound I-30 lane closure SH 8 – At Sulphur River, bridge replacement. New bridge open US 82 - From US 259 to I-30, widening road. Lane closures I-30 - At US 82, bridge maintenance. Eastbound and westbound lane closures FM 989 - From US 59 to US 67, resurfacing road. Lane closures US 59 - From FM 2148 to Sulphur River, concrete pavement repair. New Boston High School inducts students to the National Honor Society
The New Boston High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held their yearly induction ceremony on Sunday afternoon, April 27th at the high school auditorium which was attended by NHS members, incoming members and their family and friends. The ceremony started by celebrating the officers from this past school year: president Brook Higginbotham, vice president Lillian Brooks, secretary Lontonio Swift, and parliamentarian Kaylee Rhea. Officers installed the for the coming school year include: president Kenzleigh Fields, vice president Kenneth Curb III, secretary Hazel Longest, and parliamentarian Veronica Pierce (Mattie Butler standing in for her in the photo). 24 new members were inducted in the New Boston High School NHS chapter, and 30 outgoing seniors who will be graduating and wearing the NHS stole at graduation were celebrated.
